Sharing our experience at Karting Star Bali, the best go-kart track in Bali.
Location
This amazing track is located in Jimbaran area, the southern of Bali. If you are coming from Jimbaran bay or Movenpick area, you can follow the country road to the west. You will find the track nearby the entry road to Golden Tulip Jimbaran Resort. Or the track is located 1,5 kilo-meters before the exceptional Ayana resort and Rock Bar café. They also have parking space for your motorcycle and car.
Track Layout
The track layout provides a packed “formula one” circuit concept where it contains long straight, sharp turn, high speed corner, hairpin, chicane and something that you might be never imagine uphill climb and downhill. The complete layout for you to test your skills, which turned your mind to a word “demanding” when you think about this circuit.
According to the staff statement, the total length of the circuit is around 400 meters and the track has 8 meters wide. These combinations of track layout, track length, track width plus well-powered go-kart make many actions are doable. You can fully-flat out on the long straight and after that you will face right turn moving direction to 180 degrees left turn, and then 180 degrees corner again but this time to the right. It requires you a good strategy and instinct to pass preceding vehicle or maintaining your position. There’s one moment you will going through a tunnel, and there’s a moment you will down the hill than meet the sharp corner. Zig-zag, pass through the inside line, pass through the outside line, late braking is doable on this track.
Go-kart cars
The go-kart is powered by 270cc engine which delivered to rear wheels. It’s able to pass 40 km/h speed. With the rear wheel drives mechanism, for sure it can be driven with “Over-steering” style. It will suit well for you drivers with “aggressive” driving style like Max Verstappen or Charles Leclerc. They also have the go-kart for the kids with smaller vehicle’s dimension and engine capacity.
Staff information
We found the staff was very friendly. They will check your position whether you feel the car is one with you, you’re comfortability with the car. They will also explain several things such as basic procedure, how to drive the car, the circuit rules, and other things.
If you feel the car doesn’t perform well during the lap, you can ask the staff that you want to change to other vehicle. They will guide you to the pit stop and help you to change the car. It is possible if there’s a substitute vehicle.
Price Information and Tips from Us
Don’t be afraid with our explanation! You don’t need to be a professional racer to use this track. It opens for all kind of people. Are you a girl? They won’t let you stop. Basically, you can select if you want to share the track with other people, or waiting for your queue to enjoy the track with your friends only. The price is IDR 200,000 (Around 15 USD) for one adult. Then you can use the track for 10 minutes.
The team has already prepared helmet and gloves for you to use. We recommend you to use long sleeve clothes, long trousers, and shoes for safety reason. We’re not so sure the maximum car that allowed to be driven in one session, if we’re not mistakenly understand, there will be maximum of 6 cars are allowed to be driven in one session.
As you might know, go-kart cars are normally not equipped with power steering mechanism, so it’s quite heavy to turn the steering wheel. Additionally, since this activity is considered as a sport activity, we recommend you to do your own stretching before you drive the vehicle.
